SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2018
This exam will be carried for 1 hour only. 20 minutes more will be allotted to VH or cerebral palsy affected candidates, i.e. total 80 minutes.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2018
This exam will be carried for 2 hours for each subject. 40 minutes more will be allotted to VH or cerebral palsy affected candidates, i.e. total 160 minutes.

First 2 subjects are compulsory for every candidate.
Note: Please note that paper 3, i.e. Statistics, is conducted only for those candidates who have applied for STATISTICAL INVESTIGATOR GRADE II, and for COMPILER post. Similarly, paper 4, i.e. General Studies is conducted only for those candidates who have applied for ASSISTANT AUDIT OFFICER Post. The exam will be conducted in November 2018.
SSC CGL Tier 3 Exam Pattern 2018
This exam will be carried for 1 hour only. This will be bilingual means, Hindi/ English as per the choice filled by the candidate earlier at times of application filling. 20 minutes more will be allotted to VH or cerebral palsy affected candidates, i.e. total 80 minutes.

At least 33% should be scored by the candidate to qualify this particular tier, rest is dependent on cut-offs. Once you passed this examination, you will be eligible to attend tier-3, which is called the typing test.
SSC CGL Tier 4 Exam Pattern 2018
This tier will be held in February month of the year 2018.
This test is of qualifying nature. Total duration is 45 minutes.
Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)–
For the post of Assistant Section Officer of CSS Assistant Section Officer (MEA) and Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) under M/o Corporate affairs, Assistant (GSI) in M/O Mines.

• Generation of Slides
Data Entry Skill Test (DEST)-
The DEST test is for the Tax Assistant Post only.
The Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) requires 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depression per hour on Computer.
The “Data Entry Speed” Skill Test requires the speed of 2000 (two thousand) key depressions for a duration of 15 (fifteen) minutes.
The merit list will be prepared on the basis of overall performance of the student in Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III but you have to qualify all the tiers (i.e. Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III) separately.

This is a descriptive paper which will be taken offline via pen and paper. Your efficiency to write will be checked through this exam and so your language proficiency, your grammar knowledge and syntax and all semantics will be tested simultaneously.

It will be of Total 100 marks and 60 minutes time is given for it (For VH and candidates suffering from Cerebral Palsy: 80 Minutes).

SSC CGL NEGATIVE MARKING
The negative marking for every tier is little different.
- For tier 1, there is a rule to deduct 0.5 marks on every wrong answer. Doesn’t matter what is the subject.
- For tier 2, 0.5 marks will be deducted as a fundamental rule of negative marking on following subjects-
• Quantitative Ability
• Statistics
• General Studies - In case of English subject, only 0.25 marks will be deducted.
Conclusion- you have to take care of every question while answering so that negative marking cannot down your positive scores.
