In recent years this position gained popularity, and lakhs of aspirants appear in the RRB JE exam to get their dream job. If we talk about RRB JE Recruitment for 2021, the board’s official notification was released last year in December month. Students who are appearing in this exam for the first time must be aware of the selection process.

What are the multi-step stages of the selection process of RRB JE 2021?

In total, there are four stages of the selection process for RRB JE. It includes two computer-based tests (CBT): CBT-1 and CBT-2, Document verification, and Medical Examination. Below we have discussed every section briefly:

Computer-Based Test-1

The initial stage of the exam, which consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), is mandatory to clear for candidates who want to appear for CBT-2. Qualified candidates’ detail will be mentioned in the merit list of RRB JE. The merit list is published on the RRBs official website. Additional information relevant to the exam are:

  • Total 100 MCQ’s will be there
  • Exam duration is 90 minutes
  • Negative marking of 1/3 out of original marks weightage for each question
  • No technical portion is covered.
  • Categorized into four sections: Math, General Science, General Awareness, Intelligence and Reasoning
  • One marks each for questions

Computer-based test-2

After clearing the first hurdle of RRB JE, welcome to the next step. The second stage of CBT is similar to the first stage which has MCQ type of questions in the exam. The final merit list is based on the scores of the second stage of examination. Qualified candidates have to undergo a document verification process for further selection. Other details of CBT-2 are as follows:

  • Number of questions-150
  • The time duration for CBT-2 is 120 minutes.
  • Same negative marking scheme like CBT-1 (1/3 out of total marks)
  • It contains five sections
  • Each question carries one marks

Note: Kindly consider the RRB JE Cut off because it varies every year.

Document Verification

If you cleared both of the above-mentioned stages, BINGO! Now only two more hurdles need to cross. After your name is published in the final merit list, submit a few documents to RRB for the document verification process.  On an important note, no extra time is given by RRB to submit the documents. Below we have mentioned the types of paper you need to submit to RRB:

  • 10th and 12th Grade Marksheet
  • Graduation degree
  • Cast certificate
  • Receipt of payment
  • NOC by serving employer (If you are serving anywhere)

Medical examination

The last and final stage of the selection process is the medical examination. Candidates undergo the medical examination conducted by the RRB JE department. The department sets several fitness standards to evaluate the fitness level of candidates.
